As I was riding my bike back from Pescadero on 84 today I stopped and talked to the guys that were doing some work on the telephone poles.  They are putting up mini cell towers on La Honda road for Verizon.  Looks like there will be cell service at least from La Honda down to the coast for Verizon customers.
