It was Loan Modifications, now its Property Tax Modification
So, the fun continues. When mortgages were going south all the people that got us into this mess in the first place decided that now they were "loan modification companies". Taking up front cash to modify you loan (probably the loan they sold you in the first place). These ultimately ended up with you out about $2k and your loan in the same boat it was in before. Now these "entrepreneurs" have decided to send you official looking documents that look like they came from the county stating that for a mere $189 they can decrease your property taxes by half. Take a look:

I hate it when companies try this tactic. It is inherently dishonest, and if you are not paying attention you just pay them money thinking it is official. I remember a small business I use to work at where these type of people would send in random invoices for stuff that we had never purchased thinking someone would just pay it not knowing that it was bogus....but I digress.
It is very easy to ask the county to modify your property taxes, just go here. No $189 and I would guess the success rate is just as high if not better.
