Kings Mountain Airplane crash in the 1950s video

In 1953 a DC 6 was flying its last leg from Sydney to San Francisco when it misjudged its approach and crashed into Kings Mountain.  All 8 crew members and 11 passengers were killed.  In January 2009 Mid Peninsula Open Space gave permission, after several years of lobbying, to have a plaque placed at the site.  The plaque was placed in June.  This news reel was from the original 1950's report.  For more information about this tragic event go to www.flightoftheresolution.org
